Peter Bjorn & John “Young Folks” back in stores September 17th

Young Folks’ is back, re-released on 17th September and taken from the band’s critically-acclaimed third album ‘Writers Block’. It comes with a stellar remix package too, including the super rare dancefloor favourite from Beyond The Wizard’s Sleeve as well as mixes by Phones and Diplo. New track “Ancient Curse” appears on the hard to get hold of 7″ format which has recently been going for silly money on ebay!

Since its original release in August 2006, ‘Young Folks’ has become a global phenomenon inspiring folk both young and old to shimmy across dancefloors meanwhile catapulting Peter Bjorn and John into the musical stratosphere, touring in ever bigger venues across America, Japan and everywhere in between.

Easily one of the singles of the decade, not many songs have swept across the world like ‘Young Folks’. PBJ have kept it simple. In doing so they have created the most perfect pop song in years. It’s an uplifting pop masterpiece, the perfect antidote to what has so far been a wet old summer in the UK.

For so long the whistle has been in decline and now PBJ have brought back this lost art. Now the whole world whistles with Peter Bjorn and John. Even Kanye West. Raps hottest star has rapped over ‘Young Folks’ on his latest mixtape and even invited PBJ to be his backing band when he played Gothenburg’s Way Out West Festival in August:

‘Young Folks’ is a duet featuring the melancholy Nico-esque vocals of Swedish songstress, Victoria Bergsman of Taken By Trees and formerly The Concretes. It’s a taste of summer.

3 new shows have been added to the US tour schedule. The new dates are:
Oct 4th: Fairfield, Connecticut
Oct 7th: Winchester, Virginia
And a very special concert to celebrate the music of Elton John and Bernie Taupin on Oct 10th at the Carnegie Hall in New York. Howard will be performing Tiny Dancer. Other artists include, Joss Stone, Shawn Colvin, Brendan Benson and many more.

Howard and Robin have recently returned from the Retrofest 80’s festival in Scotland. They performed most of Howard’s hit to a very enthusiastic crowd of 16000 people, who were singing along with Howard. A special moment came during Hide and Seek where the audience sung an extra chorus for Howard.
